Dec.28 – The company announced to launch an e-Learning system named “A’OMAI” on the cloud, and will deliver the service on Feb. 2010. It will utilize White Cloud HaaS of Softbank Telecoms, and will provide deliver, progress and history management for LMS(Learning Management Systems). It’s minimum charge will be at 3 dollars/month.

The company aims to get a million customers and five hundred dollars of sales by 2013.

Saga prefecture chooses NTT Data

Dec.28 – The local government office of Saga prefecture chooses NTT Data Kyushu as a contractor of their cloud application development experimentation. There were three candidates in this general competitive bidding, and NTT Data got five millions dollar of budgets. The local government projects has been promoted by MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs), and will be shared by cities and towns in the prefectures.

Other than Saga, Hokkaido, Kyoto, Oita, Miyazaki and Tokushima are going to the experimentation.

Fujitsu dives into the Asian Market with Singapore Telecoms

Dec.24 – The company answered to the interviews of Mainichi Newspaper, and talked about their Asian cloud plan. In the plan, Fujitsu will provide some of cloud services including Business Management, Medical and any other cloud services. As domestic services, the company has already provided such services with NTT group, and will go to Asia with Singapore Telecoms.

Dec. 22 – The company  will launch cloud management portals named "Biz Hosting" against to the needs of cloud computing on Jan. 2010.  It features the under 100m sec duration across world wide.  With this  service, US west coast San Jose, east coast Virginia, London and Asia will be targeted worldwide data center areas.

Yano Research expects the future growth of Japanese Cloud Market

Dec.21 – The Researcher talked about the future growth of Japanese Cloud Market that will would achieve to 8 billions on 2115. In the report of Yano, the market scale of 2009 means 1.5 billion, and it will grow quickly on 2010, and will get 4 billions on 2113. To against with world wide large cloud providers such as Force.com, Amazon, Google and Microsoft, Japanese cloud providers will aim to get the private cloud customers, the researcher added.

Intech will launch IT infrastructure services on clouds

Dec.21 – The company announced to start new IT infrastructure services named "EINS/SPS" as the add-on for their network & outsourcing solution "EINS". With this solution, Intech will deliver an elastic solution to their customers. Also, the company will deliver a "disaster recovery environment services.

NEC will get 77 millions from the market

Dec.18 – The company announced to get 77 millions by December 24, because of, Daiwa Security SMB accepted the allocation of new stocks to a third party. NEC will also promote the capital increase by public offering, and will have over 1 billion of budget for cloud computing, next generation network, green technologies and so on.

It’s a big Xmas present to the company.

NetMatrix launched a new business named "EC-Success"

Dec.18 – The company will  promote the productivity of EC mall tenants with their "EC-Success" on Force.com platform.  With this service, customers who’s  mall tenants  will be able to navigate the acceptance order, inventory control and any marketing functions through Web browsers. At the beginning, the service connects with some of major EC sites such as Rakuten, Yahoo!, Bidders, Amazon, Gournavi, EC-Cube and so on.

NEC BIGLOBE will start a cloud device and services business with Android

Dec.17 – The company announced to start “cloud device and services business” which include Android, network connection and content services. This business will launch on 2010 and then will grow one million dollars by 2012, the company said. Regarding the device for Android, Camangi of Taiwan will deliver seven inch touch panel one.

Moreover, NEC Bi globe will launch an application distributed service named “Android Navi” on Jan.20101.

Nagasaki Prefecture announced to introduce electronic application procedures as a cloud

Dec.17 – The local government of Nagasaki Prefecture announced to start a cloud service that will provide electronic application procedures.  In the government, an experimentation of cloud civil services were driven, and some of results have just started. It means the first runner in whole of Japanese governments.

Nissho Electronics started to sell a private cloud startup kit

Dec.17 – The company launched a new business for private cloud owners named "private cloud startup kit". It includes HP’s server hardware, storage, network products and Windows Server 2008 R2 family. Nissho also started a Visualization Multi Vendor Solution Center(VMSC) in their NET Frontier Center, and will provide some of services before to employ the kit as free.

NEC will provide "WebSAM" to the cloud market

Dec.16 – The company announced to enhance their total management product named “WebSAM Ver.8” to the data center market. It will provide the real time monitoring for databases and applications, including “WebSAM MCOperations”, “WebSAM Invariant Analyzer” and  “WebSAM Application Navigator”. Moreover, with “WebSAM AssetSuite”, the inventory management will also be supported.

Salesforce.com announced to collaborate with Japanese OEM partners

Dec.15 – The company will support OEM partners to develop their cloud applications such as ERP and HR on Force.com platform. The some of partners – including NEC, Hitachi Software Engineering, Fujitsu – has already decided into this program. Except CRM application, whole of partners will able to develop their applications on the platform. This program will reduce 50% of development cost and will give five times faster to market, the company added.

Nihon Unisys joins to the R&D of Saga Prefecture

Dec.15 – The company announced to join into the R&D project for local government cloud  of Saga Prefecture on Jan.2010. In this project, Nihon Unisys will collaborate with HP Japan, Cisco Japan and NetApp. It means the entrance for Japanese local government cloud, the company said.

Force.com gives pressure to Japanese System Integrators

Dec.15 – The company announced to launch their OEM program that will provide Force.com platform to Japanese major system integrators. In present, there are eleven partners including NEC, Fujitsu, Hitachi Software Engineering and so on. In other hand, it gives the very strong presser to Japanese System integrators, and will accelerate the moving to cloud in Japanese market.

Google, Cables and the Future of the Web

Dec.14 – Rich Miller – Why is Google investing in a second undersea telecommunications cable project? For Google, this move is all about the future of the Internet and laying the foundations for an infrastructure that will track the network’s growth.

Last Thursday Google said it would team with KDDI, Bharti Airtel, Reliance to build a $400 million submarine cable that will connect the Asia Pacific region, dubbed Southeast Asia Japan Cable (SJC).

BitIsle will give a cloud service for digital content providers

Dec.14 – The company started to the on-demand service for digital content providers. In this service, these provide will be able to cerate and edit their digital contents with HPC environment hosted by BitIsle. The customers can use the high performance services provided by IBM System x, two months of period in minimum case.

Google invests 360 million to Asian marine cable

Nov.11- The company announced to build the marine cable from Singapore to Japan, and will not only to use it, but also provide major Japanese Internet providers including NTT group. KDDI also joins into this project, and build 8300 km of cable with companies in Hong Kong and India. This line will have 23 Tera bps of speed. Furthermore, Google and KDDI will invest to another marine cable between United Stats and Japan.

Will Microsoft and Amazon also be happy?

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) goes forward with clouds

Dec.9 – MIC announced to promote the cloud strategy to whole of local government systems, and will plot out the guidance for security issues next year. In the current those systems with 8 million dollars of management cost per year, the whole of private data are in the LAN of local offices. After the moving to clouds, it will be stored in data center at the out side of government office, so the guidance should be plotted out.

With this project, the government will reduce 30% of costs.

Riverbed will start businesses of RiOS 6.0 and Steelhead Mobile 3.0 in here

Dec.9 – The company starts to sell RiOS 6.0 for servers and Steelhead Mobile 3.0 for clients. Both of products compress the packet data on WAN, and then provide the faster communication. Regarding the price, it will be at $20,000 for one server side license and thirty client licenses.

Riverhead announced the roadmap including Virtual Steelhead and Virtual Cloud Storage Accelerator for the public cloud computing such as Amazon.

Fujitsu Launches Cloud Services in North America

Dec.8 – The Japanese systems maker enters the cloud-building market relatively late. Most of the larger IT hardware and software companies already have stakes in the ground, and there are a large number of startups already at the party. Fujitsu announced Dec. 8 that it is joining the ever-expanding “cloud-builder” club of Tier 1 IT companies.

NTT Data announced to launch "BizCloud"

It will include Private Cloud to specific customers and Community Cloud shared by multi customers. RICOH shakes hands with Novell to provide virtual solutions

Dec.3 – The company announced to launch pre-services to bring their customer into clouds as a free, with Novell’s Workload Management. In those services, RICOH will measure and evaluate the current system of customers, and then will give any planning to them. It’s also a kind of assessment service, and will reduce the cost of their customers.
